Vivienne Westwood | Designer + Activist

Vivienne Westwood was a huge influence on me in design school. Not only was she a visionary designer, but a dedicated social and environmental activist for decades. ⁠

Ninety percent of her Fall 2021 collection (seen here) was made “from materials that have a reduced impact on our environment,” including a newly-sourced recycled denim. ⁠

Her Spring 2006 collection (swipe) was one of my absolute favorites named, "AR," for "active resistance to propaganda." She was always so ahead of her time. What an absolute inspiration.💔⁠
